This picture provides an imaginary view of the plains of the west with the painted desert of northern Arizona in the background.  In my travels through Arizona I envisioned the spirits of the native Indians alive in the landscapes of the hills and the presence in the foreground of the white man with his intentions to capture and change the landscape for his own purposes.
     The technique used in this picture is a departure from my usual style of chalk and colored pencils.  This was done with a technique using a combination of air brush and mechanical pens.
