Another award winning picture of the Maroon Belles, a mountain located near Aspen Colorado.  The picture was produced as I sat in the lodge on Buttermilk Mountain, approximately 10,000 ft. above sea level, during a winter ski trip.  In the foreground are the large Ponderosa pines and Aspen trees lining the sloping walls of the Maroon Valley, which leads up to Maroon Lake.  The valley was created during the last Ice Age as the glaciers moved in and eventually receded.
