Fredrick's Oak is a live oak tree with Spanish moss, 200-300 years old, that leans precariously over the waters of Bayou DuLarge.  This picture is very special to me because this was the view from the backyard of my childhood home.  When I was a child my father would set out trout lines (a long line that held baited hooks and was supported by poles on each end set upright in the water).  He would bait these lines with crawfish and minnows.  One of my first memories as a child was when Pop came home after dark with a blue catfish that weighed over 45 pounds.  It looked like a great white shark to me.
This tree still stands today thanks to private individuals who secured funds to stabilize the bank, preventing erosion and salt water exposure to the tree's roots.  Many wedding, graduation, and special events photos have been taken with this tree in the background.

*Original includes mounting with triple matting under clear glass in a neutral frame.
