Located on family land in the bayou country of south Louisiana lies a man-made pond for crawfish production. As winter ends and spring begins the pond is flooded allowing the crawfish to emerge from their winter hiding spots and produce a new generation of the famous mudbugs. Using baited cages, the crawfish are harvested and delivered to the waiting Cajuns for the traditional family gathering of boiled crawfish, fresh potatoes, corn, and sausage. This picture of a Louisiana Bald Cypress tree in its full color of copper surrounded by its cypress knees (roots) protruding from the marshy grounds (allowing the roots to breathe), was done in winter.

Original includes mounting with triple matting under clear glass in a neutral frame.
